Wake Forest University is seeking a part-time Facilities Maintenance Technician. Shifts will vary during the week and run from 3PM to 11PM.

The role involves general and preventive maintenance across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, door hardware, and related systems. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED with 1–4 years of related experience, ability to work from ladders or lifts, and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus specialized training or 1–4 years related experience.
• Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, lifts, and in tight spaces.
• General knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting repairs and installation.
• Must meet university auto insurance requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and painting requests.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related systems.
• Patch, caulk, prime, stain and paint ceilings, walls, doors and windows.
• Install and repair door hardware and locks; cut and make keys.
• Repair vehicles (gas and electric) and install tile or floor coverings.
• Clean pools and manage pool chemicals and covering needs.
