Job summary

Promises Behavioral Health in College Station, TX is seeking an LVN/LPN to join our team for the night shift (7pm–7am). The role supports medical detox and residential programs, collaborating with the health team to provide patient care following nursing standards.

Required: LVN/LPN license, BLS/CPR, and at least 1 year in behavioral health or detox. Education includes HS diploma and LVN/LPN program; associates/bachelors preferred. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of accredited LVN/LPN program, required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree, preferred.
• Current LVN or LPN license.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Minimum one (1) year experience in behavioral health or residential detoxification program setting is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fulfillment of patient's medical orders, address patient medical concerns.
• Triage medical concerns, administer medications and injections to patients as directed by physician.
• Monitors client self-administration of medication.
• Serve as first line in any medical emergency and work with the clinical team in psychiatric emergencies.
• Perform laboratory procedures from specimen collections, as authorized.
• Record patient observations and activities in patient records accurately and timely.
• Communicate with patients, physicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff.
• Oversee admission/discharge process, including pre-screening and health history collection.
• Provide quality assessments to medication sheets and files to ensure timely, appropriate dosing.
• Follow HIPAA and patient information protection policies.
• Attend training on chemical dependency as required.
• Maintains infection control/employee health program.
