Job summary

Pharmacare in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support daily operations under the supervision of a pharmacist. You will handle medication preparation, inventory, sterile and non‑sterile compounding, and maintain an organized, compliant pharmacy environment.

The ideal candidate must have current state registration, English fluency, and may have CPhT and IV certification. Evening/full‑time hours, with competitive pay and a benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Current state registration as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred
• IV certification preferred
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently

Responsibilities

• Enter prescription and physician order data into the pharmacy’s data processing system
• Pull stock bottles and prepare medications for packaging and dispensing
• Affix prescription and auxiliary labels to medication containers
• Reconstitute medications as required
• Package and label pre‑packaged medications
• Assemble and audit emergency kits
• Perform sterile and non‑sterile compounding in accordance with regulations and best practices
• Procure and stock pharmaceuticals and ancillary supplies
• Assist with inventory management and cycle counts
• Support maintenance of pharmacy equipment, environmental controls, cleanliness, and organization
• Utilize pharmacy operating systems, digital imaging software, automated dispensing systems, and Microsoft applications
• Participate in scheduling, coordination, and preparation of medication deliveries
• Assist with training newly hired technicians and student externs as assigned
• Support auditing of patient records as needed
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Promote teamwork, communication, and a positive work environment
• Ensure patient and resident safety at all times
• Perform other duties as assigned
