Job summary

River City Casino & Hotel is seeking a dedicated Line Cook to join our fast-paced kitchen. You will prepare items per standard recipes, assist in prep, and coordinate with dining staff to ensure timely, accurate orders.

The role requires at least 1 year of line cook experience, strong teamwork and communication, basic reading/math for recipes, and strict adherence to sanitation and confidentiality policies.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Pay: $17.00 per hour | Shift: 2:00pm- 9:30pm pm or 3:00 pm- 11:30 am

Responsibilities

• Prepares food items following standard recipes and menu plans to ensure quality and consistency.
• Handles food prep tasks including washing, cutting, and cooking ingredients.
• Tests food for proper preparation using tasting, smelling, and visual inspection.
• Maintains high standards of cleanliness, safety, and sanitation per health regulations.
• Coordinates with dining room staff and communicates orders effectively.
• Completes prep sheets, side duties, and follows opening/closing procedures.
• Operates kitchen equipment safely and maintains assigned areas.
• Participates in scheduled training programs.
• Follows SOP guidelines and maintains strict confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

• Applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Line Cook preferred.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
• Must have basic reading and math skills for recipes and measurements.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare a wide variety of food items, to standard, in a high-volume, fast-paced operation.
• Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the application of sanitation procedures.
