Job summary

Reston Hospital Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for evening shifts (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM) with every other weekend. You will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications for inpatient and outpatient care.

You will set up, package and label doses, fill routine orders, maintain inventory and operate automated dispensing machines.

Licensing requirements include Virginia Board of Health Professions license and PTCB certification; inpatient experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• License as Pharmacy Technician with Virginia Board of Health Professions.
• PTCB certification required.
• Inpatient pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, package and label medication doses.
• Fill and dispense routine orders for patient care areas.
• Refill and maintain inventory and routine maintenance of automated dispensing machines.
• Demonstrate competency in parenteral admixture dose calculations and preparation, including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Licensed Pharmacy Technician through the Virginia Board of Health Professions

Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
