Job summary

BMC Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV, seeks an Environmental Services associate to perform a variety of cleaning tasks and maintain patient areas in a clean, orderly condition. Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms and offices, replenishing supplies, making beds, and reporting issues to supervision.

This non-exempt, full-time position requires physical ability to lift, bend, mop, and operate floor care equipment, with an evening shift and 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in facility cleaning or environmental services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and ensures that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair; report problems to the supervisor.
• Cleans all assigned areas, including patient rooms, exam rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, OR rooms, offices and equipment, following established procedures.
• Removes trash from all assigned areas.
• Replenishes paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations of assigned areas to assure adequate supply.
• M​akes beds, following established cleaning procedures in all patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
• Maintains assigned equipment in clean, working condition, reporting problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
• Moves equipment, furniture, boxes, wash walls, spot carpets, etc. as assigned.
• Follows all safety and sanitation regulations.
