Job summary

United Health Services (UHS) in Johnson City, TN, is seeking an Environmental Service Aide for the evening shift. The role focuses on keeping assigned areas clean, safe, and sanitary following a 10-step cleaning process and strict infection control standards.

Responsibilities include floor care, waste and linen handling, PPE use, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Regular position with benefits is available for employees working 24+ hours per week.

Qualifications

• Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions and safety materials.
• Environmental cleaning and safety practices knowledge.
• Ability to work in a team and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine daily floor care, waste and linen handling, and cleaning of assigned areas using the prescribed 10 Step cleaning method to meet quality standards.
• Follow infection control guidelines including Universal Precautions and PPE usage.
• Adhere to safety policies including handling of chemicals and equipment, and use of wet floor signage.
• Maintain EVS equipment, closets, rooms and linen chute areas to meet facility standards.
• Handle and transport regulated medical waste and confidential documents per regulations.
• Complete required logs and documentation accurately and timely.
• Report safety concerns or hazards promptly to supervisors.
• Assist with meeting room setup and patient bed moves as needed.
