University of Michigan is seeking a Custodian to support Michigan Medicine by performing cleaning tasks across patient care areas and common spaces. The role includes cleaning furniture, fixtures and glass, stocking supplies, and reporting maintenance needs during an evening schedule.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to read and follow instructions, strong physical stamina, and teamwork.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be able to read, write and understand English.
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to perform a wide range of physical activities (pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, etc).
• Must not have lifting restrictions.
• Must be able to work around sick and disabled patients in a hospital setting.
• Must be a team player, able to prioritize work and handle daily stress.
• Must be able to perform all tasks listed in the Unit Custodian Classification Description.

Responsabilidades

• Clean and polish furniture, fixtures, and furnishings.
• Clean mirrors and interior/exterior glass surfaces.
• Clean toilet rooms and fixtures.
• Dust venetian blinds.
• Spot wash walls and remove marks around sinks and switches.
• Make beds and change linen.
• Change shower or cubicle curtains.
• Collect and transport waste materials to a central location.
• Report items needing repair.
• Sweep and/or dust mop floors and stairs.
• Wet mop rooms and small floor areas.
• Maintain inventory of supplies.
