Job summary

Capitol View Home Health Care is seeking compassionate Evening Home Health Aides (HHAs) for PRN evening opportunities throughout Washington, DC. Choose your shifts: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM or 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM, with the option to work one or both.

You’ll provide personal care, meal assistance, mobility support, and companionship in clients' homes. Training we require includes HHA training and CPR certification, and dependable, patient, and communicative caregivers are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• HHA training or certification required.
• CPR certification required.
• Previous home care or caregiving experience preferred.
• Availability for 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM and/or 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM.
• Dependable and committed to scheduled client assignments.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to follow an established plan of care.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with bathing, grooming, and personal care.
• Provide mobility support, transfers, and ambulation.
• Prepare and assist with evening meals.
• Provide medication reminders as permitted.
• Perform light housekeeping related to client care.
• Support evening routines and bedtime preparation.
• Maintain a clean and safe home environment.
• Offer companionship and emotional support.
• Observe changes in condition and report to supervisor.

If you already work during the day, attend school, need additional income, or simply prefer evening hours, this may be the schedule you've been looking for.

Available Evening Hours

4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

4:00 PM – 12:00 AM

You do not have to be available for both schedules. Tell us which evening hours work for you.

What You’ll Do

As an Evening Home Health Aide, you may assist clients with:

• Bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene
• Toileting and personal care
• Mobility, transfers, positioning, and ambulation
• Preparing and assisting with evening meals
• Medication reminders as permitted
• Light housekeeping related to client care
• Evening routines and preparation for bed
• Maintaining a clean and safe home environment
• Companionship and emotional support
• Following the client's established plan of care
• Observing and reporting changes in the client's condition
• Helping clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home

What We’re Looking For

• Home Health Aide training or certification as required
• Previous home care, personal care, or caregiving experience preferred
• Current CPR certification
• Availability for 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM and/or 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
• Dependable and committed to scheduled client assignments
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to follow an established plan of care
• Ability to work independently in a client's home
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to assigned client locations

Evenings Matter

Evening care is more than just another shift.

For some clients, this is when they need the most support.

Dinner needs to be prepared. Personal care needs to be completed. Someone may need help safely moving around the home or getting settled for the night.

And sometimes, a client simply needs someone there so they don't have to spend the evening alone.

Your evening availability can give a client comfort, dignity, and independence while giving their family peace of mind.
