Job summary

High School Diploma or GED required.
1–2 years of floor finishing experience preferred, including housekeeping equipment operation.
Previous Environmental Services experience in hospital or hotel environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Transports custodial supplies and equipment to and from storage and work areas.
Strips, cleans, and refinishes hard surface floors using chemicals and/or mechanical equipment.
Extracts or shampoos soft surface floors using appropriate floor-cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Performs detailed cleaning of baseboards, kick plates, corners, edges, and elevator tracks.
Maintains various floor coverings (vinyl, marble, terrazzo, wood, granite, ceramic tile, cork).
Cleans trash and removes waste from trash areas and compactor spaces.
Maintains operation of floor machines, vacuums, and carpet cleaning equipment; reports issues.
Transports furniture and equipment as directed.
Completes required training and certification including Floor Care Maintenance Certification.
Keeps supervisor informed of accomplishments and any unfinished tasks.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Performs other duties to meet department and institutional goals.
