Job summary

Amentum is seeking a General Maintenance Technician for our client site in Durham, NC. The successful candidate will perform minor inspections and assist trades personnel to deliver best-in-class facilities maintenance.

The role supports preventative maintenance, tile/lighting repairs, and basic repairs in a busy environment. Schedule is 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with a competitive hourly range and full benefits.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ maintenance experience in general construction, painting, or general maintenance.
• 3 years of progressive career experience in industrial, pharmaceutical, biomedical, or research & development facility maintenance.
• Ability to pass a medical evaluation for respirator use and be able to successfully complete a fit test for several types of respirators.
• Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.

Responsibilities

• Performs minor inspection duties of work performed or general building condition under the direction of a supervisor or skilled tradesperson.
• Perform a variety of repair tasks while directly assisting trades personnel including replacing floor tile, light bulbs, painting, patching, and drywall repairs.
• Preventative maintenance on equipment, pressure washing, locker, sheet metal, and tile repair.
• Replacement of ceiling and ceramic bathroom tiles.
• Operates equipment to perform woodwork, furniture, and flooring tasks.
• Cleans worksites and ensures tools and materials are stored properly.
• Inspects facilities equipment in need of repair and perform general maintenance work under supervision.
• Regularly inspect buildings, plumbing, electrical fixtures, appliances, and major equipment for issues.
