Job summary

The Park School of Baltimore is seeking a Custodian/Evening Maintenance Support. This role provides after-hours cleaning, waste management, and minor maintenance under the Night Housekeeping Supervisor, contributing to a safe and ready school environment.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 2:30–11 p.m., with occasional shifts and on-call emergency readiness. The position involves emergency/duty responsibilities, with CDL P/S endorsements pursued with school support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Maryland driver’s license.
• DOT physical and drug testing.
• Willingness to obtain Maryland Class C CDL with P & S endorsements.
• Calm under emergency situations.
• Ability to read safety and operating manuals.
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Reset classrooms, offices, conference rooms, cafeteria, and common areas nightly.
• Set up and break down events; ensure all areas return to normal.
• Collaborate with Security to secure building doors and windows.
• Maintain restrooms, empty trash, and assist with minor maintenance tasks.
• Assist with traffic control as needed.
• Complete assigned work orders and promote high standards of safety and efficiency.
• Provide support for grounds and facilities maintenance as needed.
• Serve as part of the school’s emergency response team, which may require managing weather-related cleanups or other critical operations.
• Operate school buses for PM routes, field trips, and athletic trips; CDL with P and S endorsements required or pursued; training funded by school.
