Job summary

St. Charles Health System is seeking an Environmental Services Attendant to maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the hospital. The role requires following strict cleaning standards, handling waste properly, and assisting in creating a comfortable environment for patients and guests.

Attention to detail and professionalism are essential. The position is full-time in the evenings (second shift) with a pay range of $21.53–$27.56 per hour, plus swing, night, and weekend differentials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• CHEST certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Prior professional janitorial/housekeeping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of assigned hospital areas to ensure patient safety.
• Follow department and hospital cleaning standards and guidelines.
• Perform cleaning tasks as listed and operate cleaning equipment.
• Dispose of linen, trash and bio-medical waste appropriately.
• Report equipment issues or needed repairs to the supervisor.
• Provide courteous service to patients, families and staff.
