Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking an onsite Environmental Services Associate to maintain a clean, safe hospital environment. The role cleans patient rooms, clinics, and public spaces, following infection control standards and disinfection protocols.

The position runs Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM at the Indianapolis campus, with duties including hazardous waste handling and collaboration with clinical teams to ensure patient safety and smooth care flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.
• No previous experience required.
• Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by environment or regulations.
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 80% of the time (supplies/equipment 35 lbs or more).
• Ability to operate light floor cleaning equipment in patient care areas.
• Must be able to climb ladders.
• Able to clean areas requiring technical cleaning (IR/Cardiac Cath/Mother-Baby/NICU/OR/ED).

Responsibilities

• Provides cleaning and sanitizing services to support a safe, clean environment.
• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, offices, clinics, and public spaces.
• Supports patient safety through consistent, high-quality cleaning; collaborates with clinical teams.
