Harrison County Hospital is seeking a Ward Clerk/Tech for the Emergency Department. The full-time evening shift runs 12 pm–12 am with every other weekend. The role acts as the central communication and documentation hub while supporting routine patient-care tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities include receptionist/ward clerk duties, multi-line phone coverage, order entry, and general clerical work. Training may include vitals collection and cardiac monitoring as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical terminology proficiency required.
• Strong computer skills with order entry.
• Dysrhythmia class completion with 85%+ within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide ED receptionist and ward clerk coverage.
• Handle multi-line phone communications and computer-based documentation.
• Assist with basic patient care, including obtaining vital signs.
• Coordinate with nurses and physicians; ensure clear handoffs at shift change.
