Job summary

Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, RI, part of Prime Healthcare, seeks a Unit Secretary for the Emergency Room to join a dedicated team. The 24-hour week schedule runs 2:45 pm to 11:15 pm, evenings, providing essential support in a fast-paced environment.

The role involves facilitating department communications, transcribing physician orders when CPOE/EMR is unavailable, and preparing charts and records for daily needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or relevant experience required for all new hires.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Current BLS certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current.
• Experience using computers for word processing, database management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the communication needs of the department and transcribes physician orders when the CPOE/EMR system is unavailable.
• Prepares and compiles patient records and charts for daily needs in the Emergency Room.
• Orders supplies for the unit and supports nursing staff with indirect patient care.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent or relevant experience

Medical terminology

Current BLS within 6 months

Computer literacy (word processing, databases)
