Job summary

UW Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician for a 90% FTE Evening shift in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center in Madison, WI.

Shifts run 8 or 12 hours between 11:00 am and 3:30 am with every other weekend rotation; duties include blood draws, starting IVs and catheters, patient care, and documenting in the Electronic Medical Record. EMT-Basic certification is required; AEMT/Paramedic preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have EMT-Basic certification.
• Preferred: completion of AEMT or Paramedic program.
• Relevant ED/hospital or EMS experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Assist with taking blood samples and starting IVs and catheters.
• Record information in the Electronic Medical Record.
• Respond to pages/codes and assist as directed.
