Job summary

RHA Health Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional for a 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM shift in Harleysville, PA. You will provide person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental health or substance use challenges, helping them engage in the community and develop independence.

The role emphasizes advocacy, safety, and communication, with duties ranging from daily living assistance to transportation and community activities.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Complete pre-employment screening is required.

Responsibilities

Advocate for individuals’ human, legal, and civil rights.
Promote health and safety by supporting wellness initiatives and accident prevention.
Encourage self-advocacy and empower individuals in making their own choices.
Facilitate community engagement by accompanying individuals to work, recreational activities, and social events.
Teach independent living skills, including household management and personal care.
Provide transportation for appointments, errands, and community activities.
Support informed decision-making regarding living arrangements, employment, and social activities.
Assist with personal care tasks and household chores as needed.
Maintain accurate documentation of provided services.
