Job summary

Solon High School is seeking a Cleaning Custodian to perform daily cleaning and housekeeping tasks on the second shift. Responsibilities include routine cleaning, trash removal, and gym/cafeteria upkeep, with attention to safety and energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is recommended.
• Experience in custodial work and some knowledge of skills and procedures.
• Ability to read and write English and participate in the job training program.
• Ability to read and follow directions and relate well with fellow employees, students, staff and the public.
• Must exhibit emotional stability, sound health and be physically able to perform assigned work.

Responsibilities

• Follows routine cleaning tasks and assigned work schedule as established by the head custodian or designee.
• Cleans cafeteria tables between lunch periods and after lunch.
• Total cleaning including wall washing, floor stripping, sealing, waxing, furniture and window washing.
• Cleans garbage cans and storage areas.
• Inspects areas for cleanliness, safety hazards and energy waste; reports deficiencies.
• Assists in unloading delivery trucks.
• Moves cafeteria tables as needed.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Assistant Head Custodian - 2nd shift.
