Job summary

Owensboro Public Schools is seeking an Evening Custodian for Foust Elementary in Owensboro, Kentucky. The role starts immediately and reports to the Custodial Supervisor and School Principal.

The position involves performing routine custodial duties, cleaning classrooms and facilities, and ensuring a safe, orderly environment. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, with prior custodial experience preferred and must pass Kentucky background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Previous custodial experience preferred.
• Must meet the requirements for criminal record checks as specified by Kentucky State Law.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial activities at assigned District school sites; sweep, scrub, mop, wash and polish floors and vacuum rugs and carpets in classrooms, offices, workshops and other assigned areas.
• Clean classrooms, restrooms, showers, locker rooms, shops, cafeteria, offices and related facilities; sweep, mop and clean gymnasium floor; monitor gym events and protect the building from damage.
• Clean and disinfect drinking fountains, sinks, toilets, showers and urinals; clean mirrors, tile and windows.
• Report safety hazards and maintenance needs; maintain security; report suspicious individuals on campus.
• Lock/unlock doors and gates; maintain security; turn alarms on/off as directed.
• Order supplies; replace light bulbs; perform related duties as assigned.
• Operate cleaning equipment and perform heavy physical labor as required.
