Job summary

Seneca Valley High School in Germantown, MD, seeks an entry-level Building Services/Custodial worker to perform cleaning and grounds tasks. This position joins evening shifts, with full-time hours and 12 months of operation, and requires lifting heavy objects and following established safety protocols.

You will receive on-the-job training, wear provided uniforms, and support emergency staffing requirements. The role is integral to maintaining safe, clean school facilities throughout the year.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of methods, materials and practices of building/grounds work.
• Ability to learn operation and maintenance of custodial and grounds equipment.
• Ability to learn proper use of cleaning supplies and chemicals.
• Ability to monitor spaces for safety and security.
• Basic knowledge of emergency facility response procedures.
• Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
• Ability to communicate with customers.
• Awareness of SSPGS core competencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform building cleaning and grounds maintenance in schools and admin buildings.
• Assist with maintenance tasks as required and report safety issues.
• Work evening shifts and occasional overtime as needed.
