Job summary

Liberty Public Schools is seeking an Evening Custodian to maintain cleanliness and safety in district facilities. This full-time role supports classrooms, offices, and common areas, with evening hours and a focus on events preparation and general upkeep.

Qualifications

• One or more years’ experience in a custodian, housekeeper, or janitor position is preferred.
• Ability to perform snow or ice removal during inclement weather.

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, and/or grounds.
• Performs summer maintenance deep clean (e.g. strip/wax floors, moves furniture, washes walls).
• Performs minor maintenance as needed (e.g. replace tiles, light bulbs, filters).
• Secures facilities and grounds (locks doors, turns off lights, sets alarms).
• Interacts positively with team, staff, students and guests.

Custodian - Evenings (Full Time)

The Custodian is responsible for the routine care and upkeep of an assigned facility by performing a variety of duties to maintain the facility in an attractive, safe and sanitary manner. The Custodian also assists in preparing facilities for classroom activities, and district, building and community events.

This is a 12 month position. Full time Custodians are eligible for benefits as listed below.

Hours

• Evenings, Monday through Friday
• Full time shift is 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm

Pay

$17.24 - $22.61 per hour (based on relevant work experience)

Job Duties

• Cleans assigned classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, and/or grounds (e.g. vacuums; mops; sweeps; dusts; wipes down surfaces; empties pencil sharpeners, trash and recycling, replenishing supplies etc.)
• Performs summer maintenance deep clean (e.g. strip/wax floors, moves furniture, washes walls, windows, floorboards and furniture, etc.)
• Performs minor maintenance as needed. (e.g. replaces ceiling tiles, light bulbs, and air filters; changes vacuum bags, etc.)
• Secures facilities and grounds (e.g. locks doors and gates, sets alarms, turns off lights, etc.)
• Interacts positively with team, staff members, students and guests.

• Able to perform snow or ice removal during times of inclement weather.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check. (physical exam, drug test, and criminal justice fingerprint/background clearance)
