Job summary

Clark-Pleasant Community School Corp is seeking a dedicated custodian to ensure clean and safe facilities. Responsibilities include cleaning, sanitizing, basic repairs, and assisting with minor maintenance tasks. The role supports a supervised school environment and requires collaboration with staff, students, and parents.

The position follows the Classified pay model with a $0.20/hour shift bonus and a standard calendar of 260 days, eight hours per day, totaling 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance or custodial work.
• Knowledge of safety hazards and proper cleaning techniques.
• Detail-oriented and thorough.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and operate routine maintenance tools.
• Ability to interact professionally with staff, students, parents, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare spaces for the next day by removing trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces.
• Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets.
• Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables.
• Wipe mirrors and windows.
• Maintain outer premises by cleaning entrances.
• Keep janitors room neat and stocked with supplies.
• Perform maintenance and minor repairs; report major damages.
• Secure facilities after hours by locking doors and windows.
• Undertake occasional custodial tasks (snow removal, moving chairs).
• Adhere to safety rules and report hazards.
