Job summary

EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Custodial Shift Supervisor for the Department of Transportation Headquarters project in Washington, DC. The role involves supervising custodial staff, ensuring high-quality cleaning, safety, and operational efficiency on a Monday–Friday schedule with potential shift variations.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years leading cleaning teams in high-profile facilities, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience in commercial cleaning in high profile facilities.
• 2+ years of experience as a Work Lead.
• ISSA or equivalent training desired.
• Experience leading and managing teams with 10+ employees.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents in English.
• Spanish language reading is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Schedules, directs-work, and trains custodial staff.
• Inspects work, generates reports, and presents information to Custodial Manager/Supervisor.
• Promotes a safe working environment.
• Demonstrates high level of customer service and professionalism.
• Completes daily schedule duties and maintains area/equipment upkeep.
• Holds staff accountable to tasks and schedules.
• Coaches, mentors, and applies disciplinary action as needed.
• Ensures security of equipment, building, and property and reports hazards.
• Develops purchase requests for supplies/equipment and manages inventory.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
