Job summary

MLee Healthcare Staffing and Recruiting, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Staff Pharmacist in Missouri for evening shifts on a 7-on/7-off schedule. You will collaborate with pharmacists to compound and dispense medications and IV supplies with precision and care.

Responsibilities include entering orders in Meditech, verifying accuracy of physician orders, ensuring proper use of pharmacy automation, and maintaining sterile compounding procedures in the IV room. A PharmD or B.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD required.
• At least one year hospital pharmacy experience or internship preferred.
• Must obtain pharmacist license within 90 days in the relevant state.
• Active membership in pharmacy organizations encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Accurately enter and confirm medication orders using Meditech, ensuring no duplications or errors.
• Respond to inquiries from pharmacy staff, nursing, and physicians by researching medication information through Meditech and other resources.
• Utilize Omni Server reports to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
• Review physician orders for accuracy, clarify uncertainties with prescribers, and document communications.
• Check for duplicate therapies, drug interactions, adverse reactions, and inappropriate orders.
• Ensure dispensed medications match prescriber orders and operate pharmacy automation systems effectively.
• Fill dispensing system canisters promptly, perform safety checks including barcode scanning, and verify unit dose repackaging.
• Maintain competency in IV room procedures and prepare compounded sterile products using aseptic techniques, documenting chemotherapy treatments.
• Manage narcotic counts and paperwork accurately, receiving controlled substances and resolving discrepancies immediately.
• Participate in committees, provide timely drug information to healthcare professionals and patients, and assist in pharmacist hiring and student precepting.
• Support clinical pharmacy coordination to enhance drug therapy management and complete all required clinical documentation and mandatory education annually.
