Job summary

South Carolina Department of Social Services in South Carolina is seeking a 2nd shift Child Welfare Services Team Leader to supervise case managers in investigations and ensure timely, safe outcomes for children and families.

You will coach, train, and support on-call staff while maintaining compliance with policy and court requirements. A Bachelor's in social sciences fields is required, with relevant experience and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or Social Science.
• One year of related field experience if degree is in another field.
• Master's degree may be preferred for selected positions.
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise case managers in Child Welfare Service area of Investigation.
• Ensure timely investigations, safety and risk concerns addressed.
• Provide coaching, training and on-call support.
• Promote safety, permanency and well-being per policy and procedures.
• Complete FAST documentation timely and ensure quality records.
• Coordinate referrals and least intrusive interventions.
• Engage families and collaborate with professionals empathetically.
• Initiate legal actions when needed and monitor court orders.
• Provide EPMS planning and participate in hiring/training.
• Maintain child welfare certification and annual training.
• Protect PII and safeguard agency systems and data.
• Participate in emergency shelter duties as directed.
