Job summary

The Thomson-Hood Veterans Center, a skilled nursing facility under the Commonwealth of Kentucky, seeks a Charge Nurse (RN) for the 7pm-7am shift to lead nursing care for Veterans. The role requires overseeing care, coordinating with the Nursing Administrator, and ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.

Qualified candidates must have two years of RN experience and Kentucky RN licensure. A Bachelor’s degree can substitute for one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Must be licensed in Kentucky as an RN or possess a valid work permit.
• A bachelor's degree in nursing will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises professional ancillary employees in the administration of efficient nursing care of residents and makes recommendations to the Nursing Administrator and Nurse Shift Supervisor.
• Assesses, plans and interventions, and evaluates care of residents. Participates in care planning process.
• Participates in all aspects of direct care including responding to emergency situations.
• Monitors medication passes and treatment schedules.
• Participates in staff education and serves as a preceptor in New Employee Orientation.
• Reassigns staff according to resident acuity.
• Performs other duties as required.
