Qualifications

• Previous cashier or retail experience is preferred but not required.
• Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash transactions confidently.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers with a friendly, professional attitude.
• Accurately scan merchandise and process customer purchases.
• Accept cash, credit/debit cards, gift cards, EBT, and other approved payment methods.
• Count back change accurately and balance your cash drawer.
• Bag groceries carefully while protecting delicate and perishable items.
• Answer customer questions and direct customers to the appropriate department when needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked checkout area.
• Follow all company cash-handling, security, and loss prevention procedures.
• Verify identification for age-restricted purchases in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
• Assist with returns, exchanges, and price checks following company procedures.
• Work closely with supervisors and fellow associates to keep checkout lines moving efficiently.
• Perform other front-end duties as assigned.
