Butler University is seeking part-time DawgRide drivers to operate the university shuttle in the evening, delivering safe, on-demand transport for students across campus and nearby areas. You will use a mobile dispatch app to pick up riders, navigate to locations, and complete drop-offs with courteous, professional service.

Responsibilities include performing pre- and post-shift checks, recording trip logs, and adhering to traffic laws and university policies while maintaining a calm, safe ride

Qualifications

• Must have a clean driving record.
• Minimum age 21 (insurance eligibility).
• Able to pass background and motor vehicle record checks.
• Comfort using smartphone apps for navigation and ride management.
• Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and dependability.
• Ability to work evenings independently.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a university shuttle vehicle during assigned evening shifts.
• Use a mobile app-based dispatch system to receive ride requests and complete drop-offs.
• Provide courteous, professional, and supportive service to student riders.
• Follow all traffic laws, university driving policies, and safety protocols.
• Conduct basic pre- and post-shift vehicle checks and report concerns.
• Maintain accurate trip logs and app usage as required.
• Communicate with dispatch or supervisors regarding delays or concerns.
• Help ensure a calm, respectful, and safe ride environment for all passengers.
