Job summary

Augsburg University is seeking a Public Safety Officer to patrol campus and ensure a safe environment for students and staff. The role is limited-term, full-time (18 months) with 2:00 pm–10:30 pm shifts, Sunday through Thursday.

Responsibilities include escorts, building access, incident reporting, and coordinating emergency responses as needed. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a safe learning and working environment.
• Provide escorts and unlock/lock campus buildings as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate Police, Fire, EMS as needed.
• Monitor campus activities via patrol and surveillance systems.
• Identify after-hours facility issues and assist emergency maintenance.
• Prepare incident reports for security and safety activities.
• Operate CCTV, fire alarm panels and access/control systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
