Job summary

Liberty University is seeking a Custodian I to maintain a clean, sanitary environment across campus facilities, both on and off campus. You will perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of bathrooms, offices, classrooms, labs, and common areas using standard cleaning equipment and PPE, while coordinating with teammates and supervisors to support the University’s mission.

This part-time role requires a high school diploma or GED, strong customer service, reliability, and the ability to lift 50+

Qualifications

• This position requires a high school degree or GED.
• Must work well with the public and co-workers with a positive attitude.
• Courteous, detail oriented, self-motivated, diligent, trustworthy with strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds and operate cleaning equipment safely.
• Federal Work Study eligibility and Liberty student status are required to apply.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily cleaning and sanitizing of bathrooms and interior spaces.
• Cleans offices, halls, classrooms, labs, food service areas, and common areas.
• Collects trash and recyclables for disposal.
• Wear PPE and follow health, safety regulations and LU/OSHA rules.
• Report unsafe conditions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
• Occasionally assist with seasonal tasks such as snow shoveling.
• Works effectively as a team member under Custodial Supervisor.
