Job summary

Elon University in Elon, NC is seeking a 2nd shift custodian to maintain a clean and safe environment across campus buildings, including housing, academic, athletic facilities, student centers and dining areas. The role involves cleaning equipment, bathrooms, vacuuming floors, and removing trash while monitoring events to keep areas clean during activities.

This position requires a high school diploma or GED with less than 1 year of experience; the university offers a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with less than 1 year of experience.
Ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without fatigue while cleaning.

Responsibilities

Maintain campus cleanliness and clean all areas of the building. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Custodial closets/equipment: maintain closets in a neat, orderly fashion and requisition supplies as needed.
Report maintenance issues found on campus to proper channels.
Build safety and security by using wet floor signs and other safety signs as appropriate.
Attend yearly training and perform other duties as deemed necessary by the shift supervisor.
