Job summary

Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, AZ is hiring a Full-time Acute Pharmacy Technician to work in the Pharmacy-Hosp department. The role involves packaging, distribution, non-sterile compounding, and maintaining records under pharmacist supervision.

Evening shift 2:00PM–10:30PM with rotating weekends and holidays. Opportunity for on-site growth and patient-centered care in a large, advanced hospital complex.

Qualifications

• Requires Pharmacy Technician licensure and active Pharmacy Technician certification OR Pharmacy Intern licensure in the state of practice.
• Ability to perform moderate to difficult mathematical calculations using a calculator.
• Strong customer service focus and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and restock medications to maintain inventory.
• Manage users in automated dispensing technology databases and troubleshoot issues.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
• Restock automated dispensing technology and assist with code carts and emergency boxes.
• Compound non-sterile medications following USP guidelines and maintain documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and perform quality control checks.
• Handle narcotics per regulatory requirements and maintain accurate records.
