Job summary

Ohio Department of Veterans Services’ Georgetown facility is seeking an Activities Aide for part-time evening shifts (4pm-8pm) at the Southern Ohio Veterans Home. You’ll assist therapists, supervise resident activities, and support social interaction within a nursing-home setting.

Responsibilities include monitoring participation, transporting residents as needed, and maintaining attendance records for the Activity Plan of Care. Training and teamwork with OCSEA are part of the environment.

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary.
• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
• Job Skills: Mental Health

Responsibilities

• Assisting higher-level activity therapists in implementation of activity therapy.
• Monitor residents participating in activity therapy & recreational activities.
• Provide an environment that promotes resident socialization & interaction.
• Escort &/or transport residents to & from activities.
• Provide assistance to volunteers transporting residents.
• Maintain records of attendance &/or participation for Activity Plan of Care
