Join Charge Rigs as a Paint & Prep Specialist, where you'll be responsible for painting and preparing our cutting-edge EV charging units with precision and quality. This is a hands‑on role in our Apopka, FL manufacturing facility, contributing to the final look and durability of our hardware products.

As a Paint & Prep Specialist at Charge Rigs, you will play a critical role in ensuring our EV charging units leave the production line with a flawless and durable finish. From surface preparation to applying high-quality coatings, your work will directly impact the aesthetic and functional quality of our products. You will work closely with the manufacturing and operations team to uphold our high standards for craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces of EV charging units (OMEGA, FLEXX, GenIQ, DYNAMO, APEX) for painting through sanding, cleaning, masking, and priming.
• Apply professional‑grade paints and coatings using spray equipment, rollers, and brushes to achieve desired finishes and durability.
• Inspect painted surfaces for quality control, addressing imperfections such as drips, runs, or uneven coverage.
• Mix paints and coatings according to specifications, ensuring accurate color matching and consistency.
• Maintain and clean painting and prep equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Work collaboratively with the manufacturing team to meet production deadlines without compromising on quality.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace to comply with OSHA and company standards.
• Assist in inventory management for paint supplies and report low stock or equipment issues to the supervisor.
• Document and report any defects or issues encountered during the prep or painting process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training in painting or coatings preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial or automotive painting and surface preparation.
• Proficiency with spray painting equipment and techniques, including HVLP and airless systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify surface imperfections.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and PPE use in a painting environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods during shifts.
• Basic understanding of industrial coatings, primers, and paint types.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to meet production timelines.
• Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
