Job summary

Contechs is seeking a Senior Exterior Trim Engineer for a contract role based in Phoenix, Arizona. The engineer will lead the packaging, engineering design, release and launch of exterior trims for a state‑of‑the‑art vehicle, prioritising quality, reliability and cost efficiency.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years’ experience in exterior trim design, CATIA V5/V6 proficiency, experience with plastics and Class A surfaces, and hands-on launch experience with automotive suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in exterior trim design and development.
• Experience with plastics materials and Class A surfaces.
• Launch experience with automotive suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Lead or play a leading role in packaging, engineering design, release and launch of exterior trims.
• Create cutting edge exterior systems focusing on quality, reliability, functionality, mass and cost efficiency.
• Work interactively within a cross functional studio and vehicle engineering team, placing priority upon the greater benefit of the vehicle above any one individual system.
• Employ and develop world class engineering tools and an innovative approach to support the systems generation.
