Job summary

Birchwell Associates is seeking an EV Charging Engineer to install, test and commission AC and DC charging equipment at commercial and residential sites nationwide across the UK. The role requires a Level 3 electrical qualification, 18th Edition, and 2391 testing experience, with a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

You will survey sites, carry out fault-finding, complete documentation and be responsible for safety and quality on every installation.

Qualifications

• Level 3 electrical qualification required.
• Current 18th Edition qualification required.
• Testing & inspection experience, ideally 2391 or equivalent.
• Previous EV charging installation experience preferred.
• Knowledge of BS 7671, EV charging requirements and electrical testing.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.

The opportunity

Birchwell Associates is supporting a growing EV infrastructure business in the search for an EV Charging Engineer. The role will involve delivering safe, reliable charging installations across commercial and residential sites.

This position will suit a qualified electrician with EV or renewable installation experience who is comfortable travelling nationally and working independently on site.

What you will be doing

• Install, test and commission AC and DC EV charging equipment.
• Complete associated cabling, containment, distribution-board and protective-device work.
• Carry out surveys, fault finding, maintenance and remedial works.
• Configure chargers, complete basic network setup and support commissioning activities.
• Complete certification, installation records and customer handover documentation.
• Maintain strong standards of safety, workmanship and site communication.

What we are looking for

• Level 3 electrical qualification or equivalent.
• Current 18th Edition qualification.
• Testing and inspection experience, ideally including 2391 or equivalent.
• Previous EV charging installation experience is preferred.
