LOCATION OF (1) POSITION(S) TO BE FILLED: DEPARTMENT OF DISABILITY AND AGING (DDA), KNOX COUNTY

A Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) screening will be conducted prior to employment.

This position is for the DDA East TN Regional Office Division.

This position is designed as Hybrid (In office and Remote).

This position requires a criminal background check. Therefore, you may be required to provide information about your criminal history in order to be considered for this position.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board as a Behavior Analyst, eligible for licensure by the State of Tennessee as a Behavior Analyst, and two years of post-graduate full-time professional behavior analysis experience.

Necessary Special Qualifications: Licensure or a temporary permit as a behavior analyst with the State of Tennessee is required at the time of employment and must be maintained for the duration of the one year probationary period; licensure as a behavior analyst with the State of Tennessee is required by the end of the probationary period.

Overview

Under direction, performs behavior analysis administrative and clinical work of unusual difficulty; and performs related work as required. An employee in this class uses the technologies and methods of applied behavior analysis to address complex problems in a variety of settings. This classification differs from that of Behavior Analysis Director in that an incumbent of the latter directs all behavior analysis activities within a specified setting.

Responsibilities
  • Analyzes and interprets behavioral assessment and treatment data to determine the relative efficacy of procedures being applied. Develops action steps to address barriers to service.
  • Conducts direct observation of provision of services and individual behavior to develop functional assessments and to determine treatment fidelity.
  • Develops behavior treatment strategies based on functional assessments and data analysis in collaboration with stakeholders. Directs the development of quality improvement plans in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Applies behavior analytic methods to determine functional relationships between environment and behavior. Analyzes behavioral data to determine response to intervention by applying behavior analytic methods.
  • Attempts to handle complaints, settle disputes, resolve grievances and conflicts, and negotiate with others to provide appropriate behavior analysis services. Facilitates conflict resolution among stakeholders that provide services.
  • Provides behavioral analytic services in a variety of settings to improve the quality of life for persons receiving behavioral services. Advocates for acceptance of recommended plans.
  • Reviews service plans to estimate the amount of behavior service units needed. Estimates the cost of prescribed behavioral intervention materials to ensure that there are adequate resources available.
  • Conducts reinforcement- and competency-based trainings, including modeling and prompting.
