Job summary

Cognizant in Cincinnati is seeking an ETL Test Engineer specializing in Informatica to design, develop, and support scalable data integration solutions for accurate reporting and analytics.

You will partner with business analysts, developers, and DBAs to implement ETL workflows, optimize SQL, and ensure data quality across the data warehouse and data marts; onsite five days a week.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Informatica PowerCenter and IICS.
• Proficiency in SQL with complex queries and performance tuning.
• Hands-on ETL design, development, and data integration.

About the role

As an ETL Test Engineer with Informatica, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and supporting scalable data integration solutions that enable accurate and timely business reporting and analytics. You will be a valued member of the Data Engineering team and work collaboratively with business analysts, developers, database administrators, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows using Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS).
• Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities across multiple source and target systems.
• Develop and implement source-to-target mappings and business transformation rules.
• Create, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
• Monitor ETL jobs, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure compliance with service-level agreements.
• Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Optimize Informatica mappings, workflows, and SQL performance to support efficient data processing.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and database administrators to gather requirements and deliver effective data integration solutions.
• Support data warehouse and data mart development initiatives.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, and support documentation.

What you need to have to be considered

• Strong experience with Informatica PowerCenter and/or Informatica IICS development and support.
• Proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, joins, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Hands‑on experience in ETL design, development, and data integration projects.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and database design.
• Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, or Snowflake.
• Ability to perform data analysis, data validation, and data quality checks.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving ETL workflow and production support issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with business and technical stakeholders.
