Job summary

Canal Insurance Company, located in Greenville, SC, is seeking an ETL Team Lead to own the data stack operations, oversee daily ETL workloads, and drive modernization efforts across Azure-based data platforms. You will mentor engineers, ensure data quality, and collaborate with AMS and other teams to maintain SLAs.

The role emphasizes real-time data pipelines, governance, and scalable ingestion patterns for diverse data sources.

Qualifications

• Experience owning end-to-end ETL/ELT operations.
• Hands-on with SQL Server, SSIS, and Oracle PL/SQL.
• Experience with Azure data services and modern data lakehouse concepts.
• Ability to mentor engineers and review code.
• Strong incident response and SLA adherence.
• Experience with real-time data pipelines is a plus.
• Knowledge of Medallion Architecture is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end operational support for Canal's data stack.
• Monitor daily ETL loads across SQL jobs, DHIC (GW DataHub and InfoCenter) and legacy SSIS packages.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures and perform root-cause analysis.
• Refactor or retire outdated or redundant ETL processes.
• Partner with AMS and other teams to minimize downtime and ensure SLAs.
• Develop reusable ingestion patterns for Guidewire DataHub, HubSpot, Telematics.
• Lead Azure data ecosystem design with Medallion Architecture.
• Architect real-time data pipelines and event-driven analytics.
• Mentor onshore/offshore developers and review code.
• Coordinate production releases and deployments.
