Job summary

Vision Government Solutions, via DataScout, seeks a data-focused ETL/SQL professional to profile and normalize data, monitor ETL processes, and build SSIS packages. You will work with clients to onboard data sources and ensure warehouse conformity, while performing data quality checks and documenting processes.

The role requires SQL Server proficiency, T-SQL development, and familiarity with Azure Data Factory and cloud hosting environments. Hybrid work and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, data analytics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server relational databases and scripting for automating data tasks.
• Ability to write and troubleshoot T-SQL and design stored procedures, tables, views, and indexes.

Responsibilities

• Profiling and normalizing incoming raw data files (CSV, flat files, Excel, database files).
• Monitoring and troubleshooting production ETL processes, investigating and resolving failures.
• Building and modifying SSIS packages for recurring ETL processes with guidance from senior team members.
• Making routine database schema changes under direction of senior staff and participating in reviews.
• Onboarding new clients and data sources; verifying sources conform with data warehouse structures.
• Running data quality checks and flagging anomalies before they reach the customer.
• Responding to data issues, tracing to source, and documenting fixes.
• Translating data issues into plain language for Sales/Customer Relations and technical detail for Development.
• Documenting ETL processes, data sources, and load schedules.
