Job summary

Cloud Hybrid Technologies LLC in Chicago is seeking a senior database engineer to manage MS SQL Server environments, design data models, and lead migrations. You will implement ETL pipelines with SSIS, support HA/DR solutions, and drive automation with .NET, PowerShell, and CI/CD pipelines.

Proficiency across Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, and AWS RDS, plus BI tools like SSRS/Power BI, will support data governance and stakeholder presentations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016–current) including T-SQL development and performance tuning.
• 5+ years designing ETL pipelines with SSIS and ETL best practices.
• 5+ years in database architecture, modeling, schema design, and large-scale data migrations.
• 4+ years Windows Server administration and database deployment.
• 4+ years developing automation with .NET, PowerShell, ASP.NET, and C#.
• 4+ years implementing SQL Server HA/DR (Always On, Mirroring, Log Shipping).
• Certifications such as Azure DB Admin Associate or Azure Data Engineer Associate are a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms and migration tools (Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, AWS RDS).
• Knowledge of tSQLt and automated DB CI/CD with Git/Azure DevOps.
• BI tooling and reporting (SSRS, Power BI) and data governance.

Job description

6+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server (2016 through current), T-SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization.

5+ years of experience designing and implementing ETL pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and ETL best practices.

5+ years of experience in database architecture, data modeling, schema design, and executing large-scale data migration/conversion projects.

4+ years of experience with Microsoft Windows Server (2008 through current) and database platform deployment/administration.

4+ years of experience developing automation and application components using Microsoft .NET technologies, including PowerShell scripting, ASP.NET, and C#.

4+ years of experience implementing SQL Server high availability and disaster recovery solutions (Always On Availability Groups, Database Mirroring, Log Shipping).

4+ years of equivalent combination of educational background, related experience, and/or military experience.

Experience that would be great to have:

Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or Azure Data Engineer Associate.

Experience with cloud database platforms and migration tools (Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, AWS RDS).

Familiarity with T-SQL unit testing frameworks (e.g., tSQLt) and automated database CI/CD using Git/Azure DevOps.

Experience with BI tooling and reporting (SSRS, Power BI) and data governance practices.

Proven track record in stakeholder management and presenting technical designs to enterprise and client audiences.
