Unknown Employer in Foster City, CA is seeking a Network Test Automation Engineer - Ethernet Systems DV to design and maintain Python-based test automation for Ethernet compliance and performance validation across sensor networks.

The role requires 6+ years in CS/EE, strong TCP/IP and VLAN knowledge, and experience with pytest, Wireshark, and CI/CD. You will own test frameworks, document configurations, and collaborate with the Advanced Hardware Engineering team.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 6+ years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSI model, TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, ARP, SNMP and VLAN (802.1Q) configuration.
• Advanced Python and Bash scripting with pytest or similar test frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Python-based test automation frameworks for Ethernet validation.
• Develop PCAP/tcpdump tooling and fault injection scripts for ARP, ICMP, FCS, and VLAN tests.
• Configure VLAN 802.1Q topologies across bench and HIL test setups.
• Validate interoperability between switches and sensors while ensuring security standards.
• Own documentation for frameworks, methodologies, and system configurations.
