Job summary

Green Plains Inc. in Nebraska is seeking an Operations Technician to support fermentation and distillation areas. The role requires accurate execution, adherence to SOPs, and timely logging and reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Able to operate a utility vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy, dependable, and a team player.
• Willing to multi-task and own assigned projects; good written and verbal communication.
• No prior experience required; experience in industrial plants is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Learn ethanol process facets including cook, distillation, evaporation and dryers.
• Operate the DCS computer control system for the plant.
• Follow SOPs for start-up, shut down, cleaning and batching.
• Maintain logs, collect samples, and perform tests for quality.
• Coordinate with maintenance and laboratory teams; report issues promptly.
• Maintain a clean facility and brief incoming shift operators.
• Participate in safety programs and overtime as needed.
