Job summary

RTX's Pratt & Whitney Puerto Rico Engineering Center is seeking a driven Technical Drafter to create and maintain parametric solid models and drawings supporting engine programs. The role uses Teamcenter, NX, and PD ESW standards under supervision to deliver EC documentation and design updates.

You will participate in meetings, collaborate with Design & PD, and travel up to 10% as needed. A two-year STEM associate degree and 2 years drafting experience are required; U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree in STEM or equivalent.
• At least 2 years drafting or technician experience.
• U.S. citizenship required due to program access.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• NX 3D/CAD modeling proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform varied and easy to moderate drafting tasks under supervision.
• Produce 3D models and associated documentation per standards.
• Prepare TeamCenter EC documentation and related paperwork.

What You Will Do

Pratt & Whitney, the industry leader in military and commercial jet propulsion, is seeking a driven, creative, and experienced Technical Drafter to join our Pratt & Whitney Puerto Rico Engineering Center. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to create and maintain parametric solid design models and associated drawings supporting a wide variety of critical Pratt & Whitney Engine Programs. Product Definition Drafter in Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) for Compression Systems.Candidate will have the opportunity to process Engineering Changes to support Engineering in the elimination of QNS, Escapes, etc. The candidate also can have the opportunity to do design assist work for Design and Structures discipline, which includes 3D model creation and/or 3D model updates. Candidate will work with Teamcenter by creating and/or updating all the necessary paperwork to support the completion of the process until is Issued. All work must follow the Product Definition standard work and Class II Manual.

• Under general direct supervision, performs substantially varied and easy to moderate tasks.
• Apply basic skills to perform functions of the position within assigned area.
• Use standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
• Rely on moderate to extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
• Collaborate with Design & PD to complete individual tasks, communicate results
• Understands key concepts in their discipline (PD ESW, GD&T, Unigraphics/Nx, Teamcenter/Nxmanager, BCT Raster)
• Demonstrate ability to produce TeamCenter Class II ECs documentation under direct supervision.
• Demonstrate ability to produce simple to medium complex 3D models per part family PD ESW standards and under direct supervision.
• Basic understanding and interpretation part family specific Geometric Form Control to ASME Y14.5M/PWA79360 standards.
• Apply dimensioning techniques per part family PD ESW standards including DRM practices.
• Basic knowledge in dimensional stack-up techniques including ASME Y14.5 influences.
• Attend and have participation in group meetings, teleconferences and/or training required
• Actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement
• Support product definition community initiatives
• Travel is up to 10%
• English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Two-year Associates degree in STEM or other 2 years post high school training
• 2 years in drafting or technician role
• U.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications
• NX 3D/CAD modeling

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience working with compression system parts
• Experience working in the Aerospace Industry
• Experience with CAD programs (UG), Teamcenter, SAP
