Job summary

Valley Paving Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead highway heavy/civil projects for DOT and municipal owners. You will manage contracts end-to-end, coordinate with field staff, and drive profitability through accurate cost control and close-out activities.

• Associates/Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• 2-5+ years of construction management experience in heavy highway projects.

Responsibilities

• Estimate & secure projects and manage contracts for profitable outcomes.
• Lead weekly meetings with field leaders and project teams.
• Establish project schedules with foremen and superintendents; track progress.
• Daily communication with field and office to ensure project execution and cost control.
• Identify and bill for change orders and extra work; reconcile quantities.

Job description

This position will require applicant to estimate & secure projects, manage those contracts to ensure a profitable outcome, lead weekly meeting, establish project schedules w/ foremen and superintendents, daily communication w/ field and office to ensure a successful project and its’ job costs, recognize and bill for extra work, communicate and work with the field to build the project, communicate schedule w/ subcontractors, finalize projects out with owner. Qualified applicants will have valuable knowledge in every aspect of the civil construction industry that will lead to growth within the company.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Applicants will have a strong background in highway heavy/civil projects for DOT and Municipal owners. The position requires the ability to manage VPI projects from inception to completion.
• Proficient with computers, and Microsoft Excel and HCSS-Heavy Job-Heavy Bid experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Quantity reconciliation and job close-out with project engineer/owner
• Establish productive working relationships with project engineer/owner
• Work with Superintendents/Project Site Managers to complete project, including but now limited to change orders, extra work, and quantity differences within plan sets
• Associates/Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Surveying Technology, or related field and 2-5+ years' construction management experience within the heavy highway industry.
