Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking an Estimator in Training to learn how to diagnose and prepare estimates for repair under company guidelines. You will work closely with an Estimator and communicate value to customers, aiming for a high sales closure rate.

The role requires a high school diploma, customer service experience, and 16 I-CAR units within 12 months. On-site training and a supportive team environment are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must complete 16 I-CAR units within the first 12 months of employment.
• Preferred: 4-6 years related work experience.
• Photo-imaging software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Greet customer at repair drop off and build rapport.
• Maps damage with customer (previous, current loss, WOW opportunities).
• Handles repair mapping, takes initial photographs.
• Uploads photos and notes to CCC One with arrival time.
• Notifies production that vehicle has arrived and places in production queue.
• Verifies estimate during teardown.
• Finalizes estimate using proper Repair Planning Template.
• Works with repair team to ensure windshield notations are correct and complete.
• Puts together final parts list.
• Uses Promise Date Calculator to set promise date.
• Calls customer to review estimate and promise date.
• Updates customer regularly per management standards.
• Participates in production meetings.
• Calls customers whose cars will be completed the next day.
• Schedules with customer.
• Follows up with technicians after teardown and adjusts estimate as needed.
• Assist insurance adjusters with damage reports and re-inspection teams.

Job Description:

The Estimator in Training works closely with our Estimator to learn how to effectively diagnose and prepare all estimates for repair in an accurate, thorough, and profitable manner according to insurance partner and company guidelines. Additionally, the Estimator Apprentice is responsible for communicating the value Gerber provides, resulting in a high closed sales ratio.

• Assist insurance adjusters with damage reports, etc., and provide service to insurance claim re-inspectors.

Education and/or Experience Required

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Must currently possess or successfully complete 16 I-CAR units within the first 12 months of employment.
• Preferred: 4-6 years related work experience.
• Photo-imaging software experience preferred.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Excellent communication skills.
• Computer literate.
• Knowledge of Microsoft products is preferred.
• Good decision-making ability and sound judgment.

Other Requirements

• Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel and crouch in providing an accurate estimate of a vehicle’s damage.
• Must possess clear vision in providing an accurate estimate of a vehicle’s damage.

Compensation Details
