Mortenson Construction, a premier builder, is seeking an Estimator I & II for our Power Delivery Team to assemble accurate project estimates for a range of projects. Success involves taking-off quantities, evaluating materials, and coordinating with vendors to craft robust bid packages.

Responsibilities

• Build project estimates.
• Complete quantity take-offs and material summations.
• Solicit trade partners, obtain bid estimates and timelines for proposals.
• Prepare, organize and coordinate RFP documents and schedules.
• Determine pricing options and project price.
• Support lead estimator with data input into estimating software.
• Archive filing and historical cost data gathering.
• Participate in plan/estimate reviews and site investigations.
• Assist in gathering information from authorities affecting projects.

ESTIMATOR I and II - Power

Mortenson is currently seeking an Estimator I & II to join our Power Delivery Team, who will be responsible for gathering, calculating, and compiling data in order to produce project estimates; for smaller projects, this position will also prepare the full estimate.

This position offers opportunities at both levels I and II, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience and qualifications. Compensation for this role is determined based on factors such as experience and location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build Project Estimates
• Complete quantity take-offs and summations of materials
• Solicit trade partners, obtain bid estimates, and time projections for preparing vendor proposal comparisons and estimate summary sheets
• Help in preparing, organizing, and coordinating Request for Proposal documents and schedules, utilizing schedule information to estimate General Contractor's and other items where schedule is important
• Determine all pricing options and the appropriate price for the project
• Support lead estimator in data input into estimating software program(s)
• Perform archive filing and historical cost data gathering
• Participate in plan and estimate review meetings, other project review meetings, and site investigations, as needed
• Support lead estimator in gathering information from local government and private entities that may affect project (i.e. permits, hearings, etc.)
• Help manage Addendum log and documents from customers/clients

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current driver's license
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
• Applicable mathematical skills
• Familiarity with building/estimating techniques and software: ISqFt, ICE/Bid2Win, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam/PDF, Google Earth
• Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies

ESTIMATOR I

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or similar or equivalent experience
• Minimum one-year construction operations experience, including exposure to materials management and project operations
• The base pay range for this role is $78,800 - $98,500

ESTIMATOR II

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's or bachelor's degree in Estimating, Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience
• Minimum three year's construction operations experience, including exposure to materials management and project operations
• The base pay range for this role is $91,700 - $123,800

(Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
