Job summary

Ridout Lumber and Meek’s, Divisions of US LBM Holdings, LLC, is seeking an Estimator to prepare material estimates for home construction projects in Missouri. You will use computer tools and building codes to determine quantities and costs, supporting sales staff and contractors throughout the estimating process.

This role requires an Associate’s degree in engineering or related field and 1–3 years of construction experience.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in engineering or related field.
1–3 years construction and building materials experience required.
Ability to read blueprints and interpret building plans.
Excellent oral communication and positive interpersonal skills.
Understanding of measurements and basic math principles.
Ability to operate networked computer systems and specialized software application programs.

Responsibilities

Estimate the amount of materials needed for home construction according to company policy and local building code.
Assist salesmen as needed with customer orders and materials lists.
Assist in trim take-offs as requested.
Provide assistance to contractors as needed.
Train sales representatives in estimating techniques.
Assist sales staff with blueprint reading and construction procedures.
Review actual vs. estimated materials on completion of each project.
Work on sales/ hardware counter as assigned.
Control expenditures to conform to company budgetary requirements.
