Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking an Estimator to join our Sterling, VA HQ onsite team. The role focuses on developing accurate estimates for large-scale commercial plumbing and HVAC projects, blending negotiated bids with design-build work.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing professionals, coordinate with stakeholders, and contribute to winning proposals while maintaining schedule discipline and cost control.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating, engineering, construction, or project management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, PM, architecture, or engineering or equivalent preferred.
• Experience working with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing professionals is required.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for commercial plumbing and HVAC projects.
• Balance negotiated hard bids with design-build work.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate cost projections.
• Support project teams with quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
